Project and facilitation assistant for the Cosmétosciences programme M/F
JOB DESCRIPTION
Background
As part of the ‘Research & Development Ambition’ strategy, the Centre-Val de Loire region has given its support to the ‘COSMETOSCIENCES’ Research & Development programme. (Budget of €4 million, 12 research teams involved, based in Orléans and Tours).
The ARD CVL COSMETOSCIENCES programme (Research, Innovation and Socio-economic enhancement for Cosmetics), backed by the University of Orléans in partnership with the CNRS, the University of Tours, Le Studium and Cosmetic Valley aims to bring together the many well-known academic skills of the Centre-Val de Loire region in the fields of plant and biotechnological sourcing, the development of eco-friendly extraction processes and plant analysis, cutaneous biology and the use of new technologies to evaluate the activity and control the safety of active ingredients in cosmetics and provide innovative skin treatment solutions in order to rise to the challenges the cosmetics sector must face to maintain its French leadership. After a phase of impetus (2015-2016) and structuring, (2017-2020), this programme now aims to increase the visibility of research applied to cosmetics in the CVL region, by developing new academic and industrial partnerships at regional, national and international levels, in order to position the Centre-Val de Loire region as the barycentre of research and innovation in cosmetics. The expected benefits are job creation, the increasing professional integration of young graduates in the sector, the development of start-up projects and very small, small and medium-sized businesses, thus creating a leverage effect regarding the attractiveness of regional campuses and large-scale construction projects.
Mission
Attached to the Operational division, your main missions will involve the facilitation of both the scientific and the administrative aspects of the programme. You will manage and monitor the programme’s schedule of actions and actively participate in mapping the skills of those involved in the cosmetics ecosystem. In this way, you will be a driving force for the promotion of the programme and the creation of communication media.
Main activities
To do this, you will identify key contacts, research laboratories and cosmetic industry players through European clusters in particular, you will organise meetings, and put in place cooperation with key partners with a view to setting up European projects.
You will also be responsible for producing tools for setting up projects and keeping them up to date and for organising events/tasks with the researchers and the various partners. You will provide real support for employees (experts and scientists) concerning the logistical, administrative and financial aspects when projects are being set up.
Finally, you will be in charge of technology enhancement and transfer and will regularly follow up on the progress of projects with the aim of optimising results and supporting the development of the cosmetics sector while maintaining its French leadership. As the interface between the University’s laboratories and the enhancement partners, you will collaborate with the University’s think tanks to guarantee the protection of research results.
Professional environment
The Partnerships Manager will be based on the University of Orléans’ campus and will be in regular contact with a dedicated contact person at Cosmetic Valley and Le Studium, to ensure the synergy of the partnership dynamic’s actions implemented with regional researchers (actions led by the Operational Director), international researchers (actions led by Le Studium) and with manufacturers (actions led by Cosmetic Valley). Some travel will be necessary, both in France and abroad.

PROFILE REQUIRED
Education & experience
Holder of a three-year post-baccalaureate diploma in sciences or communication.
Skills and qualities required
Familiar with the academic research environment and the cosmetics industry.
Good command of communication tools (Adobe suite, Sendinblue,…). Video editing skills would be an asset.
Organised, rigorous and possessing good writing skills in French and English.

PROFILE REQUIRED
Education & professional experience
Holder of a PHD, engineering degree or Master’s degree specialising in cosmetology, you have at least 3 years’ similar experience in this ecosystem. You also have experience in the development and enhancement of collaborative projects, with involvement in national and international projects, in research enhancement and/or innovation.
Skills and qualities required
Familiar with the academic research environment and the cosmetics industry.
Successful experience in the management of scientific, academic and/or manufacturing projects is an asset.
You are known for your good sense of contact and communication, and you enjoy discussions with other collaborators. Autonomous, flexible and organised, you will be able to adapt to a complex international environment that requires a very good level of spoken and written English.

As part of its actions, COSMETSCIENCES wishes to reinforce its team. The proposed work placement is for a period of 6 months.
MISSIONS (non-exhaustive list)
- Update follow-up tables for the structuring of the programme (skills mapping and ID cards of the laboratories involved in COSMETOSCIENCES)
- Collect information for the identification of new opportunities for academic and industrial collaboration
- Link it to the various mechanisms in place in the cosmetics sector, and the Go4Cosmetics European platform in particular
- Watch for development and structuring opportunities for the programme
- Participate in the organisation of the programme’s various actions (trade fairs, conferences, themed days)
- Participate in the setting up of projects for funding requests
- Contribute to the various actions depending on the needs expressed by the team

PROFILE
Knowledge and people skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-Baccalaureate studies at an engineering school, Master’s degree or equivalent (French or international)
- Familiar with the world of research
- Interested in sciences and innovation
- Interested in the cosmetics sector
- Very good level of English (written and spoken)
- Good sense of organisation, rigour, project follow-up
- Works well in project mode and as part of a team
