As part of the ‘Research & Development Ambition’ strategy, the Centre-Val de Loire region has given its support to the ‘COSMETOSCIENCES’ Research & Development programme. (Budget of €4 million, 12 research teams involved, based in Orléans and Tours).
The ARD CVL COSMETOSCIENCES programme (Research, Innovation and Socio-economic enhancement for Cosmetics), backed by the University of Orléans in partnership with the CNRS, the University of Tours, Le Studium and Cosmetic Valley aims to bring together the many well-known academic skills of the Centre-Val de Loire region in the fields of plant and biotechnological sourcing, the development of eco-friendly extraction processes and plant analysis, cutaneous biology and the use of new technologies to evaluate the activity and control the safety of active ingredients in cosmetics and provide innovative skin treatment solutions in order to rise to the challenges the cosmetics sector must face to maintain its French leadership. After a phase of impetus (2015-2016) and structuring, (2017-2020), this programme now aims to increase the visibility of research applied to cosmetics in the CVL region, by developing new academic and industrial partnerships at regional, national and international levels, in order to position the Centre-Val de Loire region as the barycentre of research and innovation in cosmetics. The expected benefits are job creation, the increasing professional integration of young graduates in the sector and the development of start-up projects and very small, small and medium-sized businesses, thus creating a leverage effect regarding the attractiveness of the regional campuses and large-scale construction projects.

You will manage and monitor current projects and actively prospect amongst all of those involved in the cosmetics ecosystem. You will also be responsible for producing tools for setting up projects and keeping them up to date and for organising events/tasks with the researchers and the various partners. You will provide real support for employees (experts and scientists) concerning the logistical, administrative and financial aspects when projects are being set up.
Finally, you will be in charge of technology enhancement and transfer and will regularly follow up on the progress of projects with the aim of optimising results and supporting the development of the cosmetics sector while maintaining its French leadership. As the interface between the University’s laboratories and the enhancement partners, you will collaborate with the University’s think tanks to guarantee the protection of research results.
The Partnerships Manager will be based on the University of Orléans’ campus and will be in regular contact with a dedicated contact person at Cosmetic Valley and Le Studium, to ensure the synergy of the partnership dynamic’s actions implemented with regional researchers (actions led by the Operational Director), international researchers (actions led by Le Studium) and with manufacturers (actions led by Cosmetic Valley).
