Imaging and Brain laboratory

The ‘Imaging and Brain’ research unit is working on the development of tools to increase accuracy in the diagnosis of psychiatric pathologies and the perfection of new treatments for these pathologies. Our unit brings together researchers, teacher-researchers, clinicians, engineers and technicians with additional expertise in psychiatry, neuroscience, genetics and medical imaging; it combines basic research with clinical research.

Biological activity and safety

The main objectives of the Imaging and Brain laboratory are:

  • Improvement of the understanding of psychiatric and neurological pathologies by refining their diagnosis and treatment;
  • The implementation of imaging methods for the diagnosis of brain pathologies;
  • The development of new therapies for the treatment of brain pathologies.

The IBrain’s research is conducted by 3 teams. One team is involved in Cosmétosciences

Imaging, Biomarkers and Therapy team
The team develops and validates imaging technologies and methodologies (ultrasound, PET, MRI) dedicated to brain exploration from macroscopic scale to molecular scale. These imaging technologies, combined with developments in metabolomics and image and data processing, promote greater understanding of the neurophysiological mechanisms of psychiatric disorders and facilitate the discovery of biomarkers. Our team also develops new therapeutic strategies based on the use of ultrasound (ultrasound neurostimulation, drug delivery). These activities are part of transrational research dedicated to precision medicine.
