Nanomedicines and Nanoprobes laboratory
The Nanomedicines and Nanoprobes laboratory (NMNS) is a team whose collective complementary skills are used for the development and study of biocompatible nanoparticles, vectors of anticancer agents (nanomedicines – NM) and/or imaging agents (nanoprobes – NS).
Cosmétosciences research topic:
Formulation and sensoriality
Theranostic (therapeutic and diagnostic) treatment of cancers and dermatology/cosmetology are the two main areas of application of the research activities.
The multidisciplinary nature of the team allows a complete study of these new nanoforms, including their design, physico-chemical characterisation and biological evaluation in vitro and in vivo.
New bio-analysis and diagnosis approaches, based on methodologies such as Raman spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis and spectral and optical imaging, are developed to elucidate the relationship between the physico-chemical properties of nanoparticles and their biological activities.
The NMNS’s research is conducted by 2 teams. One team is involved in Cosmétosciences
Nanomedicine, nanoformulation team
- Synthesis of molecular conjugates (polymer-peptide, polymer-antibody fragment) (KHA)
- Synthesis of metallic and bi-metallic nanoparticles (iron oxides, silver, gold) (KHA, IC)
- Surface functionalisation of nanosystems (organosilane chemistry, thiol chemistry.) (KHA)
Nanoformulation:
- Assembly of nanosystems by electrostatic interactions (SD, HM)
- Nanoencapsulation of hydrophilic/hydrophobic active compounds (biocompatible polymers, lipids, cosmetological active agents) (EM, HM)
Analysis of molecules and nanosystems:
- HPLC, capillary electrophoresis (MS, LDE)
- FT-IR, Raman, UV-visible (FB, CI)
- Multimodal imaging:
In vitro: IR/Raman/Fluorescence Spectral Microscopy (IC, FB)
in vivo: MRI-Fluorescence-Surface Enhanced Raman (SERS) coupling (IC)
